Community in Conversation at the Carnegie is an early-evening speaker series that brings Islanders together around timely topics rooted in Martha’s Vineyard life. The series features local voices, shared learning, and meaningful conversation in a historic setting.
What should higher education be today, and what is its role in local, national, and global communities? Join us for a conversation with the co-directors of the Gull Island Institute, a Falmouth-based education non-profit whose reimagined liberal arts programs for young adults incorporate academics, physical labor, and student self-governance. Ana Keilson and Justin Reynolds will speak about the mission and work of the Institute, which will be running a month-long program for a small cohort of undergraduates from across the country on Martha’s Vineyard in May and June, 2026.
